Abstract: Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a challenge in the worldthat impacts people’s mental health across different demographics. This study investigated the relationship between thesymptoms of PTSDamong female IPV survivors and various forms of IPV in Nairobi County. The researcher chose a correlational research design to survey 204 female survivors of IPV, selected through purposive sampling. PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5) and the Composite Abuse Scale Revised – Short Form (CASR-SF) were the tools used to collect data. Quantitative data was collected and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26.The mean scores from the T-test analysis were higher for PTSD and psychological/ emotional abuse, sexual abuse, physical violence, and controlling behavior. There was a positive correlation between CAS and PTSD (r=0.283, p<0.001).Thus, female survivors who experienced respective forms of violence except economic abuse were likely to have symptoms of PTSD as compared to those who had not experiencedthese forms of IPV.
